What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading powerful ideas through short, impactful talks and global conversations. Originally founded in 1984 around Technology, Entertainment, and Design, TED has grown into a worldwide platform covering topics ranging from science and business to culture, education, and innovation, guided by its mission of “Ideas Worth Spreading.”
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created TEDx, a program of independently organized events that bring people together for a TED-like experience through talks, performances, and conversations.
The “x” in TEDx represents independently organized events. While each TEDx event reflects the culture and identity of its local community, all TEDx events share a common mission: to discover and amplify ideas that can create positive impact.

TEDxManila is an independently organized TEDx event in the Philippines, operating under a license from TED. Since 2009, it has brought together diverse voices from across Metro Manila and beyond, showcasing ideas shaped by the Philippine context and connecting local realities to global conversations.
